Amazon.com announced Monday that its annual Prime Day event will return June 23–26, bringing millions of exclusive deals to Prime members across more than 35 categories. The four-day shopping event kicks off at 12:01 a.m. PDT on June 23, with deals available on the Prime page and the Amazon Shopping app. Members can save on top brands, trending products, and items exclusive to Amazon, plus fresh groceries, summer essentials, and back-to-school must-haves — all with fast, free delivery. New deals will drop as often as every five minutes during select periods throughout the event.
Amazon is starting the event ahead of June 23 with early deals available to Prime members. Early deals are already live across categories including devices, groceries, books, fashion, beauty, and more. The retailer is also offering limited-time offers and sweepstakes for members during the sales event.
Total Retail's Take: Amazon's much anticipated Prime Day sales event is coming back to kick off summer for Prime members. Since launching in 2015, Prime Day has grown into one of the biggest shopping events of the year across the retail industry, rivaling holidays like Cyber Monday with surges in online shopping. This year, Amazon is focusing on deals for groceries and household items to attract customers feeling the strain of an uncertain economy.
"Prime Day is the biggest shopping event of the year exclusively for members, whether they're looking for deals on the latest electronics, getting ahead on back-to-school shopping, or saving on fresh groceries and household essentials," said Jamil Ghani, vice president of Amazon Prime. "The incomparable value of Prime keeps growing, and this year is no exception."
Amazon is also pushing members to utilize its artificial intelligence shopping features during Prime Day sales. Members can use Alexa for Shopping to build a personalized Deals Guide and set deal alerts ahead of the event.
