lululemon athletica's NorthPark boutique in Dallas is in some hot water of the foot-in-mouth variety after posting a sign on its store window that stated, "We do partners yoga. Not partners card." The missive was a response to an annual charity initiative run by The Family Place, a nonprofit that works to protect and shelter victims of domestic violence. Locals can buy its "Partners Card," which offers discounts at participating local retailers, for $70 — money that goes to fund the charity.

Last Thursday, Diane von Furstenberg's studio in New York's Meatpacking district underwent a temporary transformation. Gone were the large pieces of furniture on the east-facing wall; in their place were cameras, studio lights and a half dozen production people, in addition to representatives from Google, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), public relations firm KCD as well as von Furstenberg's own design company. The occasion? Von Furstenberg was hosting the first shoppable Google+ Hangout, one in a series to be held by CFDA designers.

Discount retailer Target is partnering with upscale department store chain Neiman Marcus to offer a limited-edition holiday collection, including apparel, gifts and other items. The retailers said Tuesday that they've assembled 24 leading designers to create the product collection, which is slated to become available Dec. 1 at all 1,763 Target stores and 42 Neiman Marcus stores, as well as on the Target.com and NeimanMarcus.com websites.
