Phone Channel Still Valuable?
Don’t close down those call centers any time soon. According to a recent poll from SiteAcuity, a provider of software for Web-to-phone conversion tracking and reporting, 84 percent of leads and sales acquired via online marketing are closed over the phone. Nearly 300 small and midsized businesses took part in the survey. Here are more of its findings:
* 38 percent of the companies surveyed don’t track offline conversions back to the online activity or source; 37 percent feel they could be doing a better job with online to offline tracking; 18 percent are satisfied with their current capabilities;
* 51 percent of respondents are not tracking Web call-ins and resulting conversions back to online campaigns and keywords; 28 percent are doing this part of the time; 9 percent are doing this all of the time; and
* 56 percent said the phone (call center) is the most relevant offline customer conversion tool for their businesses, followed by sales reps and in-store visits (both 13 percent).
