Ascena Retail 3Q Profit Rises 8%

Ascena Retail Group said its fiscal third-quarter profit rose 8 percent as the company reported sales increases at its dressbarn, maurices and Justice clothing stores. The retailer of apparel for women and girls, formerly known as The Dress Barn Inc., reported net income of $51.8 million, or 64 cents per share, for the three months ended April 30. A year earlier it reported a profit of $48 million, or 59 cents per share.
