Luxury online retailer Net-a-Porter is hoping to tap into the demand for expensive childrenswear, home furnishings and cosmetics with early-stage plans for three new websites. Net-a-Porter, founded in June 2000 by Natalie Massenet, already sells designer clothes and accessories for women, as well as menswear via MrPorter.com, launched a year ago, and the discount designer sector with TheOutnet.com that launched in 2009.

The Home Depot and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia have extended their agreement to offer Martha Stewart Living-branded products at Home Depot stores through 2016. The Home Depot offers a wide variety of paint, outdoor furniture, kitchen and bath cabinetry, and carpeting under the Martha Stewart brand currently.

It's no surprise that shoppers find long checkout lines to be frustrating, but retailers may not understand the implication long lines have on in-store sales. New survey results reveal that nearly 40 percent of smartphone-carrying shoppers abandon their in-store purchases due to long lines and 21 percent will abandon their purchases if there are no registers open, equating to lost revenue for the retailer.
The beloved British fast-fashion chain Topshop is set to inhabit Los Angeles. The 25,000 square-foot flagship store will be the chain's first West Coast location and only the fourth store in the U.S. Other Topshop stores in the United States are located in New York City, Chicago and Las Vegas.
