Bankrupt Borders Books hired a New York liquidation specialist to sell off remaining inventory and store leases and close its retail network, which includes three Connecticut stores. DJM Realty of Melville, N.Y., a Gordon Brothers Group company, will immediately begin liquidation of more than 900 Borders and Waldenbooks stores nationwide. Borders Group filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in February. However, in recent days the book chain decided to abandon a recovery plan and go out of business. Borders Connecticut locations include two in Farmington.
