American Apparel is being heralded for its support of LGBT rights after issuing an open call for "transexy" models. The fashion brand famous for its provocative advertising posted an ad Saturday on Instagram, asking transgender and transsexual models to visit its Chelsea store. American Apparel, which has used transgender models in ads before, is famous for its strong stance on gay rights, carrying gay culture magazines in its stores and piloting the "Legalize Gay" movement in support of same-sex marriage in California.

Katie Holmes, Josh Duhamel and Malin Akerman are among the well-dressed stars of upcoming film "The Romantics," which is all about friends reuniting for a wedding with a few wounds still not healed. The cast, which also includes Adam Brody, Rebecca Lawrence and Jeremy Strong, reunited recently for a photo shoot for J.Crew and changed in and out of several outfits over the course of several hours for the retailer's fall catalog and the brand's website.

Bedbugs — nocturnal, bloodsucking insects about the size of an apple seed and notoriously tough to eradicate — are taking a bite out of Manhattan business this summer. The bugs may be little, but their effect can be big, from damaging a brand's image, to sparking major changes in retailers' return policies, to requiring frequent pest-control checkups that can cost thousands of dollars a visit.
