As beauty-product sales increasingly move online, Ulta Beauty has launched a technology initiative to improve its service and boost sales. It's part of an ongoing makeover that the Bolingbrook-based retailer launched in 2013.

This brings the retailers total number of completed U.S. solar energy projects to 25. Addition installations are under way at 14 more stores. The two Chicago area projects total 248,700 square feet and generating capacity of 1,989 kW, and were built with 8,463 panels.
