Global E-Commerce Tips, Tricks and Strategies
This morning, the European Union (EU) unveiled plans to create a single digital market, uniting consumers and industries online across all 28 EU countries. The goal of the "digital single market strategy" is to eliminate barriers between European countries by syncing regulation, updating copyright laws and getting rid of obstacles to online trade such as geo-blocking, the process by which businesses in one country restrict access to others based in another country.
In addition, the European Commission launched an antitrust inquiry into the e-commerce sector to identify potential competition concerns affecting the European markets.
So what does this all mean for retailers here in the United States? You need a strong international e-commerce strategy to take advantage of the opportunities that exist in Europe and other foreign lands.
