By the Stats: Get Salary Benchmarks for New Hires
As a catalog’s e-commerce presence grows, it most likely begins to add job titles to its staff that didn’t exist a few years ago, according to direct marketing recruiting firm Crandall Associates. With many companies adding at least one Internet marketing title to their staffs, human resource managers also require new salary benchmarks for these positions.
In its “National Salary Guide 2006,” Crandall Associates reports salary survey results for various e-commerce titles, which include the following:
E-mail Marketing Manager
1-3 years’ experience: $60,200 to $69,100
4-7 years’ experience: $66,200 to $72,300
7 years’ (or more) experience: position hasn’t existed long enough to establish a baseline
Highest salary reported: $95,000
Internet Marketing Director
1-3 years’ experience: $79,900 to $87,700
4-7 years’ experience: $84,600 to $95,400
7 years’ (or more) experience: $93,500 to $121,500
Highest salary reported: $180,000
Internet Marketing Manager
1-3 years’ experience: $58,800 to $65,800
4-7 years’ experience: $64,700 to $81,900
7 years’ (or more) experience: $79,200 to $84,500
Highest salary reported: $120,000
Search Engine Optimization Manager
1-3 years’ experience: $45,100 to $55,500
4-7 years’ experience: $50,300 to $75,100
7 years’ (or more) experience: position hasn’t existed long enough to establish a baseline
Highest salary reported: $100,000
Web Site Manager
1-3 years’ experience: $55,500 to $67,700
4-7 years’ experience: $65,800 to $80,200
