Zumiez Swings To Slight Profit In Second Quarter

SAN FRANCISCO -- Zumiez Inc. late Thursday said that it swung to a slight profit in the second quarter, reporting net income of $114,000, up from a loss of $3.1 million last year. Earnings per share came to zero in the most recent quarter, as its share count rose slightly. Still, that was better than a loss of 10 cents in the year-ago quarter. Revenue rose 15% to $97.7 million from $85.2 million a year ago. Analysts polled by FactSet Research had forecast the specialty apparel retailer to earn 2 cents a share on revenue of $97.3 million.
