GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. – Dollar General Corp. plans to open 625 stores and remodel another 550 locations during 2012. The expansion will involve creating 6,000 new jobs, bringing the total number of jobs created by the retailer since 2009 to more than 21,000. In California, which Dollar General entered in 2011, the chain plans to debut 50 stores this year as well as open a distribution center. Those moves will create 1,300 jobs alone.
