Aeropostale Reports Jump In Second-quarter Profit

SAN FRANCISCO -- Aeropostale Inc. late Thursday reported second-quarter net income of $43.6 million, or 46 cents a share, up from $38.6 million, or 38 cents a share, in the year-ago period. Revenue rose 9% to $494.7 million from $453 million last year. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters had forecast the clothing retailer to earn 46 cents a share on sales of $503 million.
