Now that Etsy CTO Chad Dickerson is in the role of CEO, replacing founder Rob Kalin in July, the company had to find someone to oversee the technology. Dickerson looked no further than his own team, recruited from his alma mater, Yahoo. Dickerson named VP of Engineering Kellan Elliott-McCrea his replacement as Chief Technology Officer. Elliott-McCrea came to Etsy in July 2010 from Yahoo's Flickr photo service, and before that, he was an engineer at Odeo. Dickerson wrote that Elliott-McCrea has driven the "moving fast at scale" ethos and has been the catalyst in building its "just ship" culture.
