* 61 percent responded that they’ll be adding staff during the current third quarter compared with 66 percent last quarter;
* 28 percent are forecasting no change; and
* 7 percent plan to reduce positions, up from 3 percent last quarter.
The remainder said they were unsure of their hiring plans.
The survey also determined that customer service positions will be most in demand this quarter from employers, followed closely by direct marketing managers and sales support. Not that finding qualified candidates is going to be an easy task. According to the survey, 26 percent of companies are having a “very difficult time” finding qualified candidates to fill their positions.
