Customer acquisition is at the top of every retailers' priority list, especially with the holiday season just around the corner. However, it oftentimes gets pushed aside and forgotten about. The good news? According to John Lawson, CEO of ColderICE Media as well as the author of "Kick Ass Social Commerce for E-Preneurs," acquiring and retaining customers is easier than you think.

During this year's Retail Marketing Virtual Conference & Expo, Lawson offered up tips during his session, 15 Tips in 30 Minutes: Building a No-Fail Customer Acquisition Program, on how retailers can wow their customers this holiday season. In this audio snippet, Lawson shares how you can deliver an exceptional customer experience while managing customer expectations.

"The must dos: deliver and satisfy. You got to deliver it on time and you have to satisfy customers. Setting the right expectations, offering more, being passionate about your customers' needs and don't be afraid to give," said Lawson during his RMV '14 session. "Focus on the satisfaction and wowing the customer, and you're going to get a customer that comes back all the time. Set the right expectations; make sure your communications are clear."
