Mobile Security Index 2018: An In-Depth Look at the Risks and What You Can Do About Them

Mobile connectivity is behind many of today’s big organizational changes — e.g., digital transformation and the Internet of Things (IoT) — that are impacting processes and people across all industries. Verizon’s inaugural Mobile Security Index seeks to create awareness about the growing security threats and the critical need to safeguard data as organizations become increasingly reliant on enterprise mobility for business operations.

This year’s Mobile Security Index found that companies are concerned about the threats mobile devices pose to both their data and uninterrupted business operations, with the vast majority believing the threat to be serious. Despite this, organizations are sacrificing security for expediency, knowingly putting speed and profits before mobile security. In an effort to help organizations take the necessary steps to protect their operations, data and reputations, the report includes recommendations that can help them strengthen their mobile security, offering a flexible framework that includes security measures for a company’s network, devices, apps and people.
