In this episode of Retail Right Now, Total Retail's Joe Keenan and Kristina Stidham discuss an article recently published by Total Retail titled, “Amazon is Finally Acting Like a Retailer, and What That Means for Brands,” authored by Tim Hershey, chief retail officer at Netrush. Amazon has recently tightened its inventory restrictions, placing new pressures on its sellers to increase throughput, reduce inventory levels, and generally start treating the platform like a traditional retail channel rather than a convenient warehouse.

Hershey writes that this development isn't necessarily a bad thing. Efficient brands should be more agile, optimizing working capital, making better investments, and increasing throughput. However, accomplishing this requires some potential strategy shifts. To read all of Hershey’s tips for navigating new Amazon inventory restrictions, click here.
