Retailers Take Over Fenway
Another interesting note from last week's Shop.org conference was the swarm of attendees that took advantage of a beautiful late summer day in Boston to hit up a Red Sox game. I took in my first game at the iconic ballpark last Tuesday night along with a co-worker (we ended up seeing a small piece of history in the process as Red Sox knuckleball pitcher Tim Wakefield picked up his 200th career victory, an all too rare occurrence lately for the fast-fading Red Sox).
We weren't the only ones from the conference to come up with this bright idea, however. We spotted several familiar faces in the crowd, and then the next day heard from several others who also said they were at the game. In fact, on-demand e-commerce solutions provider Demandware rented out a box at the game to entertain customers and prospective clients (as did other vendors, I've heard). After a full day covering the latest trends and news coming out of the cross-channel retail industry, a night out at Fenway was the perfect way to relax.
