A former eBay and PayPal executive who went on to lead Google's commerce initiatives has joined the Board of Directors of fashion brand Coach. Stephanie Tilenius was at eBay Inc. for nine years, ultimately as SVP of eBay.com and global product. She went on to become vice president of global commerce and payments overseeing digital commerce, product search and payments at Google. There's nothing more embarrassing for an executive than bragging about a customer, only to find one's claims were incorrect. eBay CEO John Donahoe learned that lesson this week in a case reminiscent of a similar faux pas made by former eBay executive Stephanie Tilenius. Google was sued by PayPal over claims it misappropriated trade secrets from PayPal’s mobile payment business.
