Hometalk, a home and garden social network, has announced that its members will co-host Pinterest parties in 100 Michaels stores nationwide on Feb. 16. According to the companies, these parties will provide live access to Hometalk's expansive network of do-it-yourself (DIY) experts. Hometalk has selected 100 of its members to lead a series of DIY craft demos for consumers to learn from as they shop for supplies in Michaels stores. Handpicked for their DIY expertise, Hometalk members will put their own twist on one of five Pinterest-inspired projects, offering consumers hands-on help and tutorials, ideas and advice. 

Michaels Stores, the arts and crafts retailer, launched an online holiday planning tool this past July designed to take the stress out of holiday gift-giving for users as well as reward them and get them more engaged with the brand. The loyalty campaign, dubbed "Make Your Joy," was designed and executed using a multichannel promotion and loyalty platform from ePrize and will last through the holiday season.

Michaels has launched Make Your Joy, an online holiday planning tool. Users who register for the free application at can create and manage their to-do lists, sync their calendars to Michaels events and view and share holiday project ideas. The program will send reminders to help users stay on schedule, as well as inspiration, ideas and chances to win prizes throughout the holiday season. “Many of our customers start planning early for the holidays so they can make homemade gifts and cards or design the perfect holiday home for entertaining family and friends,” said Paula Puleo, chief marketing
