A little more than a month after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, specialty women's apparel retailer Cache is throwing in the towel. Advisory and valuation services provider Great American Group, which won a bid for Cache's assets at a March 3 bankruptcy auction, has begun "going out of business" sales for all Cache's retail locations in the U.S., the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. The sale will offer significant discounts on the retailer's inventory of women's apparel and accessories. Select furniture, fixtures and equipment at stores, warehouses and corporate offices will also be for sale.
Chico’s FAS is considering international expansion in addition to plans to open about 120 net new stores in 2012, executives said Tuesday as they outlined growth plans for investment and security analysts. The Fort Myers-based women’s clothing company previewed growth plans for about 50 analysts at the national store support center on Metro Parkway. Women’s apparel retailer Cache reported Wednesday that it narrowed its loss for the quarter ended Oct.2 to $5 million, compared with a loss of $6.8 million in the year-ago quarter. Revenue rose 1.3% to $45.5 million, from $44.9 million in the third quarter of fiscal 2009.
