The next time you're surveying the options in your local retailer's toothpaste aisle, don't be surprised if a coupon for the very same toothpaste you're looking at suddenly pops up on your phone, guided there by the light bulbs above you.

Retail entrepreneur Brett Markinson, the founder of Sole Society and HauteLook, has launched a new venture that he thinks will revolutionize the way shoppers find deals. It's called Savoir Mode and it collects and offers up discounts on current-season apparel. The site, which launched last week, is a bit novel in its approach. While flash sales contain discounted merchandise from previous seasons, Savoir Mode uses a special algorithm to pull items that have been recently marked down from hundreds of retailers.

It's widely known that customer reviews can boost trust and credibility, as well as drive significant improvements to conversion rates and search rankings. Just as well known is the challenge of actually getting customers to provide feedback and reviews. Feedback is often difficult to come by and, in most cases, isn't representative of a retailer’s entire customer base. The new overstockArt.com Oil Paintings app allows consumers to browse through its gallery's robust selection of fine art and use the paintings to decorate their walls and share their home redesigns on the go. Using the built-in camera, users can take photos of their space and visualize oil paintings hanging on their own walls.
