Albany, N.Y. -- Trans World Entertainment Corp. said Tuesday it has named John Anderson acting CFO, effective immediately. Anderson has served in positions of increasing responsibility at Trans World for over 18 years, most recently serving as controller since September 2006. He replaces Tom Seaver, who will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities after a short transition period.

Trans World Entertainment Corporation reported it will close its Carson, Calif., distribution center as part of its program to streamline its operations.The operations at the Carson facility will be phased out over the next two months. Trans World will service its stores from its distribution center located in Albany, N.Y.
