Pinterest Beats Facebook for E-Commerce Sharing
Pinterest recently jumped ahead of Facebook as the No. 1 social site for e-commerce sharing. According to a study by social media company Gigya, Pinterest is responsible for 44 percent of e-commerce shares, followed by Facebook with 37 percent.
"However, Facebook moved into first place again in a variety of marketing-related categories, leading the way in sharing for media and publishers with 40 percent of shares vs. 30 percent for Twitter and 20 percent for Pinterest. Facebook was also the most popular platform for sharing consumer brands, with 46 percent of all brand shares, compared to 38 percent for Twitter and 11 percent for Pinterest. Likewise, Facebook led in the travel and hospitality vertical, with a whopping 61 percent of all social sharing, compared to just 17 percent for Pinterest and 14 percent for Twitter."
