Susan Rappaport Named President/CEO of ALC
Princeton, NJ — Susan Rappaport, a multi-disciplined direct marketing veteran, has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of ALC. Widely respected as both a direct marketer and data marketing innovator, Susan has served in executive management roles at leading direct marketing organizations for more than 25 years. As ALC both broadens and deepens its portfolio of data marketing services, Susan steps into the role that had been held by Donn Rappaport who founded the company in 1978.
As announced last week, Mr. Rappaport has assumed the role of CEO at Zumbox, the world's first paperless postal system, as part of a strategic alliance in which ALC will provide sales and marketing services to Zumbox.
"Over the past 30 years ALC has grown to be an industry leader by helping our clients acquire, retain and maximize the value of their customers through the innovative use of data," said Ms. Rappaport. "Direct marketers—like all businesses in this economy—are facing major challenges. Our clients want and need fresh thinking and innovative tools. As the costs of printing, paper and postage rise, and as response rates fall, they must explore new ideas and opportunities. We aim to show them the way in the future, just as we have in the past."
"It starts with our people," she explained. "I believe ALC has the best and brightest data marketers the industry has to offer.” Under Susan's leadership, ALC developed ALC University, the industry's most sophisticated data marketing training program. What's more, 1 in 4 ALC employees own an equity stake in the company. "Plus," she adds, "we support them with leading edge systems and technology."
"But the bottom-line," she concludes, "is our client roster. We work with the leaders in virtually every business category…many of whom have been with us for 5, 10, even 20 years. They know that we know what it means to be 'in service' to them, and that we have made that an integral part of our culture."
