Eilenberger Bakery Acquired By Hale Groves Parent Company
Vero Beach, Florida, October 2, 2009 – Southern Fulfillment Services, LLC announces that it has acquired 111 year old Eilenberger Bakery; a Palestine, Texas based fruit cake, bakery and gourmet food gift retail, catalog and internet company.
Founded in 1898, Eilenberger’s is a well-established brand known for its signature Texas Pecan Cake, fruit cakes, brownies and other gourmet food gift selections. Eilenberger’s is primarily a holiday season cataloger, but offers many products all year long.
Southern Fulfillment Services (SFS) which operates out of Vero Beach, Florida already owns national catalogers Hale Groves and Pittman & Davis, two established brands offering citrus, specialty fruit and gourmet food gift selections. Additionally, SFS owns Citrus Country Groves (HolidayCitrus.com) and GiftBasketsRemembered.com. SFS also provides fulfillment for other national mail order and internet companies and offers a full-line of services including order processing, private label packing and other fulfillment operations all the way to final delivery.
“We are extremely pleased and excited to add Eilenberger’s Bakery to our family of brands. The heritage and deep rooted tradition of a 111 year old company fits perfectly with who we are, and the bakery will offer a more diversified product line to our existing brands.” said Don Wright, president and CEO of SFS. “This is the oldest bakery in Texas still operating in the same location, and we’re honored to continue what F.H. Eilenberger started so long ago”. SFS plans to market Eilenberger’s separately from their family of brands.
SFS will assume Eilenberger’s physical facilities in Palestine, TX and will immediately begin hiring employees for the upcoming holiday season. “We will change the operations very little, but will look to use our marketing expertise to grow the brand quickly.” With this acquisition, SFS now owns and operates over 350,000 square feet of office and production facilities in both Florida and Texas.
