Customer Retention: Belk Launches Cross-Channel Loyalty Program to Reward Customers
In commemoration of its 125 years in business and to demonstrate its commitment to and appreciation of its customers, Southern department store chain Belk has launched 125 Days of Prizes, a cross-channel sweepstakes program. During this time, Belk's customers will have the opportunity to win prizes and giveaways from some of the retailer's top designers and brands. Each day, customers will have the chance to win prizes retailing between $500 and $6,500. These giveaways include products from Michael Kors, Calvin Klein and KitchenAid.
Belk has partnered with ePrize, a provider of digital engagement solutions, to help run the sweepstakes. ePrize has helped to promote and build buzz around Belk's anniversary, acquire useful consumer data and insights, and drive brand engagement. That engagement is happening on a microsite Belk has created for this campaign, as well as on the company's mobile site and Facebook page.
Customers can earn bonus sweepstakes entries by referring their friends, submitting their Belk memories (e.g., uploading pictures), engaging with the retailer via its social media pages or being a Belk Rewards Card consumer. The program also offers consumers a custom calendar, which they can log onto daily for the duration of the 125 days to view that day's prize and enter to win on a regular basis. The program will run until July 12.
"Belk is a brand with a deep history of customer loyalty," said Jon Pollack, Belk's executive vice president of sales promotion, marketing and e-commerce, in a press release from ePrize. "We created this campaign to say thank you to our most valuable asset — our customers — and kick off our next 125 years of engagement in a big way."
