Bed Bath & Beyond Will Accept Decades-Old Coupons in its Return
Bed Bath & Beyond, the home goods dealer that re-emerged in the fall of 2025 after its 2023 bankruptcy under parent company Beyond, Inc., is asking customers to do something unheard of: bring in their old, worn, faded, and expired coupons. The company has launched the Legendary Coupon Hunt, a 21-day promotion. Until July 13, shoppers can bring in their old coupons to participating Bed Bath & Beyond, The Container Store, Kirkland’s Home, Lumber Liquidators, and Cabinets To Go locations nationwide. Every coupon handed in counts as an entry in a “home transformation” sweepstakes. One winner will walk away with $100,000. A hundred others will win $500 in gift cards, and 50 will win $100 in gift cards.
Total Retail's Take: The leaders at Bed Bath & Beyond are betting that tapping into the company's well-established brand equity and customer nostalgia will be keys to rebuilding traffic, awareness, and customer relationships as the retail chain returns to physical retail. It's important to note that the Legendary Coupon Hunt is, in reality, not a coupon promotion. Rather, the campaign is designed to deliver increased store traffic levels. Bed Bath & Beyond is using its famous (and popular) coupons as a bridge to transform nostalgia into a modern omnichannel customer relationship across its digital and physical properties.
