Walmart.com is testing a grocery delivery service in California in what the Wall Street Journal calls a response to competitive threats from Amazon.com, whose AmazonFresh service is testing grocery delivery in Washington state. Walmart is committing to online and mobile initiatives, and last week announced it would acquire social media technology platform Kosmix, which "filters and organizes content in social networks to connect people with real-time information that matters to them."
