The closer Congress gets to passing the Marketplace Fairness Act requiring online retailers to collect sales tax from out-of-state customers, the more Louis Giesler worries about how he will comply with the new laws. Giesler is president of AmeriMark Direct, a $400 million catalog company that employs 700 people in Middleburg Heights and Berea, both in Ohio. His company sells clothing, shoes, jewelry and healthcare items to predominantly older consumers from all over the country, processing about 3 million orders a year.
