Quiksilver, Inc. today announced that its board of directors has appointed Andy Mooney as president and chief executive officer, succeeding Quiksilver's Co-Founder Bob McKnight, who has been named executive chairman. Mooney will also join the company's board of directors. All of these changes will become effective Jan. 11, 2013.

Walt Disney's "Cars" is poised to become the company's largest film licensing property with the upcoming release of the franchise's second installment. "Cars 2" debuts in U.S. theaters June 24. Merchandise began hitting stores globally in mid-May and is on track to beat retail sales from megahit "Toy Story 3," said Andy Mooney, head of Disney's consumer products division.
